gap personnel get onside to support worthy charity in Liverpool
Everton and Liverpool football clubs may not have lifted a trophy this season, but gap personnel Liverpool felt like victors when they sported a top team to play in a 5-a-side charity football tournament in Toxteth.
The tournament, which had been arranged by "Everton in the Community", supports people with mental health issues and those recovering from drug and alcohol abuse.
In fantastic weather, the valiant team of Rob Eyes (Driving Force), Paul McNally (Driving Force), Danny Greenough (Head Office), Nicky Cooper (Danny's friend), Alex Quegan (gap Technical) and Chris Twidale (Head Office), battled superbly but, unfortunately, were defeated in the final!
Team Coach, Melissa McDarby said; "The team was fantastic - they couldn't have played any better together. Paul and Danny were our top scorers, with 10 goals each and Rob stopped 20+ goals from going in, he was magnificent - in fact, if we had him playing for England we might stand a chance of winning the World Cup!!!"
