Hilton Food Group has completed its £80.8m acquisition of Icelandic Seachill in an ‘exciting’ deal which will broaden the company’s product offering.

Hilton’s wholly owned subsidiary, Hilton Foods Ltd, agreed to acquire Grimsby-based Seachill, which produces The Saucy Fish Company range of products, for a cash consideration in October.

The specialist international meat packing business has now formally completed the deal and a firm placing to raise gross proceeds of £55.9m.

Hilton Food Group is headquartered in Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire and was founded in 1994.

Robert Watson OBE, chief executive of Hilton, said: “We are pleased the acquisition has completed and look forward to broadening our offering into fish and seafood to our UK and overseas customers.

“We are excited about the opportunities the Seachill acquisition will bring to Hilton and see considerable potential to build the business alongside our existing meat offering.”
