The Company
My client is located in a state of the art building on a large site outside of Wetherby with ample free parking, there is an exciting and innovative environment within the Company with varied opportunities to develop your skill set.

The Role
This role involves providing general IT support and software development to the company, as well as specific LIMS support, development and integration. This role requires good analytical and data processing skills, as well as good communication and inter-personnel skills. A scientific background in biochemistry/biology would be beneficial.
My client will consider both recent graduates, a recent science graduate with strong coding skills or an IT graduate with an interest in science (biology/chemistry), and more experience LIMS developers, who would demonstrate experience with Labware LIMS.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
LIMS
·Configuration and customisation of off the shelf laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
·Undertake independent development, defining requirements with customers, proposing solutions and developing LIMS applications.
·Supporting, updating and reporting against databases including SQL Server using TSQL.
·Manual software testing and writing automated test cases.
·Helping create and maintain application documentation (i.e. user manuals, training documents)
·Documenting processes.
·Perform designated administrative functions.
Software Engineer
·Work as part of the development team.
·Undertake independent development, defining requirements with customers, proposing solutions and developing.
·Participating in other IT related groups/projects, as necessary and assigned
·Learn and support 3rd party applications in use in the company.
·Develop skills and keep up-to-date with new technologies and languages.
·Use and keep up-to-date with the following technologies and software: Git, C#, ASP.NET,
JavaScript, Java, JIRA, Python, UNIX Systems, Visual Studio, SQL Server, LabWare 6/7.
I.T.
·Day to day IT support for the company including software and hardware issues, new installs, physical networking, printers etc.
Education/Experience/Skills
Essential
oEducated to degree level in computing/scientific/technical/engineering discipline.
oFull life cycle software development experience.
oThe ability to work efficiently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
oThe ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, professionalism, care, accuracy and reliability.
oExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
oA bold and innovative nature and a desire to be fully involved in driving the growth of the business.
Desirable
oBiochemisty/Biology background with Computing experience.
o1 years commercial LIMS experience.
oRecognised LIMS certification.
oExperience in LabWare LIMS ecosystem.
