My client is a leading environmental, planning and engineering consultancy. As a business they specialise in high profile and potentially sensitive developments, from renewable energy to water and waste. Their consented projects include some of the most significant renewable energy schemes in Europe and Africa.

Due to business growth they are seeking a talented Ecologist to join their Ecology Team. The ideal candidate will be looking to build on their existing skillset and develop a broad range of experience and specific expertise on high profile projects with major clients.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
•Supporting Project Managers in the delivery of projects to schedule and budget;
•Liaising appropriately with in-house specialists as well as sub-consultants, developers and other relevant bodies;
•Managing and analysing complex ecological datasets;
•Undertaking ecological desk-based studies and submitting data requests;
•Consulting with stakeholders and statutory bodies;
•Preparing technical reports and other deliverables;
•Providing Ecological Clerk of Works services and advice;
•Planning and carrying out ecological field surveys;
•Providing input into Ecological Impact Assessment for major development proposals;
•Ensuring adherence to the CIEEM professional code of conduct and promote sustainable development;
•Providing support and input to protected species licence applications, mitigation work and habitat management proposals; and
•Providing advice and support to junior members of staff.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
•Graduate Membership of CIEEM; actively working towards Associate level;
•Experience of undertaking a range of ecology surveys;
•At least one year's consultancy experience;
•Natural England Class licences preferable but not crucial;
•Experience as an Ecological Clerk of Works (for York and North East roles)
•Knowledge of protected species licensing and mitigation;
•Experience working on multi-disciplinary consultancy projects;
•Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

As this role includes both field and office-based work, a full UK driving licence is required and the successful candidate must be willing to travel throughout the UK.
