A professional services company based in York centre are looking for an experienced IT Systems and Service Desk Engineer to join their IT function.
You will be assisting with desktop and server support, network, infrastructure and telephony support for IT related issues and faults. You will also be involved in co-ordinating the work distribution, priorities and effectiveness of the Service Desk for the company.
This is a demanding support position which calls for excellent customer service skills, the ability to articulate solutions clearly and confidently to end users and a high degree of technical knowledge across a broad range of technologies and products.
·Dealing with incoming faults in a professional, courteous manner over the phone and via email
·Correctly logging incidents and faults, categorising and prioritising them.
·Providing desktop and server based support
·Diagnosing and resolving problems either remotely or in person
·Managing fault through their entire lifecycle from the first point of contact through to resolution
·New Starter Account and desk setup
·Checking reports and event logs
·Windows Server 2016
·LAN and WAN Support
·Microsoft SQL Server
·Good time management skills
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·Hold a full UK drivers' licence - this is essential
·Natural Problem-Solving Skills
·Have a solid background in helpdesk or Technical support environment
·Hands -on approach
