Learning and Development Manager - Clinical

A great and exciting opportunity has just come available for a Learning and Development Manager - Clinical, providing support to Nurses in relation to Learning and Development and also to ensure competence, quality and compliance located near to Leicester. The role will require travel to Nursing Homes within Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and also near to Coventry. The successful candidate will spend 2-3 days in Leicester and the other days traveling to Nursing Homes.
My client is well established and has achieved awards for their level of care and is looking for a Learning and Development Manager to join their management team to further improve and maintain the high standards that are embedded throughout their values and service delivery.

·Salary - up to £36398.68
·Hours - Monday to Friday 0900 - 1700, You will be required to pick up Nursing shifts as and when over the weekend to keep skills and knowledge current - this will be either paid at premium O/T rate (£25.00 ph) or can be taken back as time owed
·Area - Based in Leicester but with travel to surrounding counties
·Permanent position

Responsibilities - Learning and Development Manager - Clinical

·To provide support and mentoring to clinical teams across the provider.
·Role model good practice and support through preceptorship, early years and those requiring more support.
·Provide hands on support/training where needed.
·Working with Leicester University and Birmingham University to promote Nursing within Care Homes to newly qualified Nurses and arrange Student Nurse placements
·To set, analyse need, promote, coordinate and deliver the quality expectations of across nursing services with respect to learning & development.
·To liaise closely with the Workforce Development Director, Quality Matters Manager for Care, Regional Directors, Nursing Home Managers and Clinical Leads to set objectives and quality markers for nurse learning & development.


Skills required - Learning and Development Manager - Clinical

·Relevant nursing qualification
·Current and clear NMC PIN
·A passion for learning & development
·Proven experience of working within nursing home services
·Demonstration of Continuing Professional Development including skills based training
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·Writing, recording and reporting skills
·Knowledge of IT systems including WORD/EXCEL
·Ability to drive to locations across the company
·Ability to undertake nursing shifts alongside our teams when required
·Have experience at a similar level
·Must be a commutable distance from Leicester but with travel to surrounding counties.
