Our award winning client based in Malton is looking for production operatives for an immediate start in their Gourmet Pastry production factory.
Production Operative pay rate - £8.86 p/h, Overtime after 44 hours - £11.81 + Night Shift premium of £1 paid after 22:00
4 on 4 off shifts days and nights available, 06:00-18:00, 18:00-06:00
Monday to Friday Night shift only - 18:00-02:00

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
To assist Shift Manager / Team Leaders in ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day operations in order to fulfil business / department needs and targets; maintaining product safety and quality standards

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Under the guidance of Shift Manager / Senior Line Leader, ensure that each product specification is followed, and any anomalies are reported immediately
• To ensure that any production targets set by the Junior Shift Manager / Senior Line Leader are met; or if this is not possible, shortfalls are reported to the relevant person in a timely manner
• To maintain a clean and tidy area (work, changing room, canteen, etc.) meeting both safety and hygiene regulations of the site.
• To wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times within the Production area.
• Carry out training commensurate with the area including regular refresher / update training as and when required.
• To report any equipment defects immediately to the Assistant Shift Manager / Team Leader
• To behave in a safe and appropriate manner at all times.
• To assist during internal / external audits as required.
• To maintain high levels of work performance including attendance, timekeeping, etc

Other Duties
• Mentor (assists & help) new employees within the department
• To assist in other departments as and when required
• Undertake any other reasonable duties and as and when required following consultation between yourself, supervisor and management.
• Undertake any training that may be required or desirable
• To contribute and participate in projects that may be outside your usual remit as requested and agreed by Management/Site Director
• Be conversant with four strategic pillars (QVIP). Champion this within the department and the wider site
• Adhere to all rules, processes and procedures in relation to the work

Experience / Knowledge:
• Understanding of relevant risk assessments and trained as competent to safe working procedures.
• Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting
• Experience in FMCG environment - desirable
