Maternity Cover position - 3 months Part time Wednesday Thursday and Friday's 10am-3pm
Working onsite within the HR team this role will be to process a weekly payroll from prepared working hours, and manage associated payroll administration for circa 200 employees

Role and Responsibilities:

Inputting of hours onto payroll system
Weekly checking of pay hours against timesheets
Calculating and processing of the payroll using software (Pegasus Opera)
HMRC online reporting/RTI submissions
Update and communicate correspondence for Statutory payments
Pay analysis reporting
Dealing with pay, tax and pension queries
Updating payroll system & records; starters, leavers, change of details etc
Identify, raise paperwork and implement length of service increases, calculating adjustments where required
Ad-hoc maintenance of pay records (EG: Archiving)
Ensuring records relating to pay are securely filed electronically or within paper files (including paperwork trails which stop at Payroll, EG Fit Notes, change to terms forms, etc)  
Maintaining records for:           
HMRC – processing P6s, checking PAYE records
Court Orders – ensuring DOEs are set up, paid & maintained
o   P45, P46 including paperwork
o   Pensions (auto-enrolment)


Experienced in administering a weekly Payroll
Able to hit the ground running
A self-starter; will be able to work autonomously, with a willingness to learn
Solution orientated and inquisitive
Methodical, accurate and organised with excellent attention to detail
The ability to be discreet and professional and maintain confidentiality of information
Ability to cope in a fast and dynamic environment in a calm and professional manner whilst maintaining an advocacy for customer service
Excellent IT skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with a windows-based Payroll software (Pegasus Opera would be ideal)Strong written and verbal communication skills to be able to connect and liaise effectively with a diverse workforce
