The role of the Business Development Manager is to work with all stakeholders within the business and externally to find and develop new business. As part of this analysis of current business and opportunities to increase business with current customers is important. The collaboration with other departments such as Supply only order administration, Supply and Fit, Production and Finance is essential. The role reports directly to the General Manager and from time-to-time special projects may come from the General Manager and Group Managing Director which will be briefed, and a timeframe set for reporting findings/progress will be established. Roles and Responsibilities

• Identifying and pursue new business opportunities.

• Contacting customers by phone, email, Linkedin and other methods to establish their potential requirements.

• External sales visits as required to build new business, increase/consolidate existing new business.

• Creating market strategies for the business.

• Conduct market research.

• Analyse current business and quotation success to then focus and target individual customers, sectors, types of products.

• Develop and define process and procedures for the role and related positions and as where required across the company.

• Maintain a record/database of customer contact, software/templates to be defined.

• Developing new products and services to meet the needs of existing customers.

• Developing and maintaining relationships with business stakeholders including external clients, internal group clients, external suppliers for resale products.

• Customer complaint resolution if escalated from supply only admin team, investigation and creation/amendment of process and procedure to avoid issues reoccurring.

• Identify any training needs across with other supervisors/department managers of staff involved in direct sales activities and discuss these with the General Manager and then to action them and document actions taken to improve an individual(s) or the whole team.

• Liaise weekly (and daily as required) with the General Manager as to where the business is in terms of inbound sales enquiries, outbound sales projects, projects of special interest, projects delivered and learnings.

• Monthly data to be provided on both operational and financial topics and resource requests/planning for the future.

• A quarterly (and annual) growth plan to be defined with the General Manager and Group Managing Director, this will involve meetings to be scheduled and agenda’s defined, notes to be taken and agreed actions to be created and followed.

• Attend industry events, exhibitions, and conferences when applicable to the role.

• Any other tasks that are defined from time to time.

Working hours will be 40 per week with a 70/30 split between office/home working and being on the road.

This role will come with a company car.
