Our client based in the Wrexham area are currently looking to recruit Electrical Engineer on a permanent basis. Working on a 4 on 4 off basis an exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established business.

Pay & Hours of Work

4 on, 4 off / 6am-6pm, 6pm-6am / Days and Nights
£35k – £40k per annum

Responsibilities

Minimise downtime through close attention to regular maintenance of equipment.
Carry out the allocated tasks assigned by the shift supervisor for both breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance.
Maintain an accurate log of progress against all assigned tasks.
Work closely with engineering and factory colleagues.
Ensure a prompt response to breakdown or plant failure.
Ensure compliance with health & safety and operating procedures and Company/customer technical standards.

PLC’s (Mitsubishi, Siemens).
Relay control systems.
DC motors and drives.
AC motors and inverter drives.
24/7 breakdown operation.
Compressed air systems.
Overhead cranes.
Mechanical drives/gears.

Skills Required

City & Guilds Craft/ technician or ONC in Electrical maintenance
At least 5 years’ worth of experience within a heavy mechanical engineering/steel business
You will need to have served a recognised Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship to a minimum equivalent standard of City & Guilds to an Industrial standard with knowledge of modern control techniques.
If electrically biased the requirement is the I.E.E 17th Edition qualification.
If mechanically biased the requirement is the safe working knowledge for basic electrical fault finding and lock off/isolation procedures on and around industrial equipment.
Tig welding, general fabrication skills, milling and turning would also be advantageous.
