General Abattoir Operatives required in York (YO19!!)


·To carry out all activities and roles within the abattoir in line with individual training matrix and as requested by the Slaughter hall Manager or Supervisor.

You will be trained and skilled on some of the following task;

·Sticking & bleeding
·Head removal, tongue removal
·Hide removal
·Saw / splitting of carcase
·Removal of all S.R.M.
·Trimming (four stages) to management specification
- Pushing of been into chillers
·Adhere to Company Hygiene practices & safe food production.
·To comply with Health & Safety rules, to prevent /minimise the risk of accidents
·To be a valued member of the slaughter team and have consideration for all colleagues in the plant.
·To participate in training, in accordance with your personal training plan
·Attend appropriate team meetings as required by the manager

Shifts & pay:


3 days - 07:00 - 15:30
2 days - 07:00 - 12:30
£9ph with overtime available / weekly pay for what you worked the previous week.

Breaks, including paid or unpaid - Monday, Wednesday, Friday x2 30 minute breaks one paid one unpaid. Tuesday, Thursday 1x 30 minute break unpaid. 

Canteen Facilities - No fresh food on site, vending and food heating facilities offered. 

You will be provided with the correct PPE (Hard hat, hearing protection, visor, Wellington boots, whites, chain mail gloves, apron, sleeves) by the company.
