Gap professional are operating as an employment agency on behalf of its client, who are recruiting for an Environmental and Quality Assistant.


Job Type: Permanent
Location: Exeter
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm
Salary: £24,500 - £26,500 DOE 

The role: 

Working within the Quality department this role will support the Quality Manager to ensure environmental and quality management system requirements are being maintained and followed. 

The group hold accreditations for ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management and ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, therefore the successful applicant will need to have experience in monitoring and maintaining systems in accordance with these standards. In addition to this, a basic understanding of the requirements of ISO45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems would be beneficial, as the group will be looking to implement this standard during the next financial year. 

The successful applicant will also be responsible for conducting environmental risk assessments, internal audits, supporting department heads in the successful completion of outstanding actions, and ensuring documentation and record controls are maintained.

Assist the Quality Manager in the management and maintenance of ISO14001:2015 and ISO9001:2015.

 

Update and communicate environmental performance measures on a monthly and annual basis.

 

Assist the Quality Manager in ensuring timely completion of sustainability reporting in regard to environmental aspects.

 

Monitor and update the management team on environmental legislative changes relating to the group’s activities.

 

Undertake environmental risk assessments and be involved in product end of life assessments.

 

Conduct internal environmental and quality audits, including result follow up with departmental heads.

 

Undertake corrective action review including follow up of results, outputs and conclusions.

 

Assist in improving document control across all the management systems.

 

Assist in the communication of Environmental, Quality and Health and Safety policies and documentation across the company to promote and ensure compliance.



PERSON SPECIFICATION 

Relevant experience

A sound knowledge of ISO14001:2015 and ISO9001:2015
Experience or involvement in the implementation and / or maintenance of management systems
Experience of conducting internal environmental and quality audits



Education and training

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to demonstrate continuous learning
Good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages
An IEMA or NEBOSH Environmental qualification or equivalent and IEMA membership would be advantageous
