Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a self-starting HR Officer/Advisor with all-round HR experience, gained in a fast-paced environment, to join them on a permanent basis at their site in Cleckheaton. This is an exciting opportunity to both hold an Employee Relations-focused position and manage a team!
As the site is in operation 24-hours a day, it is very important that applicants have the flexibility to work outside of standard hours on occasion to ensure that critical HR support is available across all shift patterns.
In addition to managing a team consisting of a HR Administrator and 2 HR Coordinators, the main responsibilities of this role will include:
Answering employee queries
Providing support to managers on a range of ER issues
Providing support and advice in disciplinary proceedings
Monitoring absence & probationary reviews and running reports from the HR & T&A systems
Ensuring staffing levels are consistently met
Full management of Maternity and Paternity including meeting with employees to explain entitlements, issuing documentation, keeping managers and payroll informed of leave dates and return dates etc
Managing the full recruitment cycle, including conducting suitability checks and issuing offer letters, contracts & welcome packs to employees, ensuring their timely return
Maintaining and updating the HR system with starters, leavers, contract changes & salary increases etc to ensure employee records are up to date and accurate
The ideal candidate will:
Have up to date knowledge of employment law legislation & the CIPD qualification or part qualification (preferred but not essential)
Have experience in a similar, fast-paced HR role, offering a variety of advice on a range or ER issues
Have a positive attitude, attention to detail and an understanding of how HR adds value
Be a good problem solver with the ability to identify issues and resolve these in a timely manner
Be an excellent communicator both written and verbally
Be organised and able to prioritise and plan own work activities to use time effectively
Be dependable and able to follow instructions, but also demonstrate the ability to work with little supervision
Be self-motivated, highly resilient and tenacious with a “can do - will do” attitude
Have great all-round administrative skills with strong PC skills; ideally MS Office
Be able to maintain confidentiality
Have a flexible approach to work and the ability to work with changing demands
Salary: £25,000 - £29,000 per annum, depending upon experience.
