industrial Operative

Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently looking for Production Operatives to join a busy team in a well-established client based in Newport.

Our client is a busy, heavy industrial company distributing water tanks. As such, they are looking to add new members of staff to their team. This role requires a high level of attention, accuracy and a previous working history in heavy industrial/manufacturing.

Contract: This is a temporary on-going position which could lead to permanent for the right candidates.

Salary: Monday to Friday £9 per hour

Saturday overtime rate £13.50 per hour

Sunday overtime rate £18 per hour

Shifts: Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm 

The ideal candidate must:

• Have at least 6 months experience in a similar role

• Be able to work in a heavy duty environment

•Have experience in using machinery

Your duties will include but not be subjected to: 

Provide flexible machine manning directed by the Production Coordinator / Team Leader

Liaise with Team leader / Production Coordinator to ensure customer satisfaction

Ensure that production targets are met and performance complies with company quality, environmental and safety policies

Lead safety by personal example

Raise housekeeping standards to departmental standards

Must be physically fit as will be lifting metal plates up to 60kg between 2 people

Be lifting metal plates and turning it into different positions while a machine welds.
