Multi Skilled Engineer - Mechanical Bias

£35,000 Per Annum - 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00

gap technical are proud to be representing this National Manufacturing business in their search for a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer to work at their facility based near Wiltshire. Our Client is a leader in their field and are going through a period of exponential growth

Performance Objectives

  • Work within Company procedures and S.O.P.'s with Health & Safety as a priority
  • Work to regulations and health & safety legislation
  • Carry out, and continually develop planned maintenance programmes on all machinery to a high-quality standard
  • Systematic Root Cause Analysis and Elimination techniques
  • Use effective and timely fault-finding skills on all site machinery to ensure optimum machine performance and productivity
  • Maintain all relevant paperwork and audit-able systems in line with internal and external standards
  • Be proactively involved in continuous improvement of personal skills, the engineering department and plant machinery
  • Actively involved in projects as and when requested
  • Pro-active ideas in relation to reduction of downtime

Person Specification

Successful candidates for this role will:

  • Be able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem solving and decision making
  • Have the ability to work with little supervision using own initiative within parameters of the role
  • Work with key stakeholders including production teams to identify and improve machine set up faults
  • Show evidence of written and oral communication skills with reference to dealing with people at all levels of the business and development of work procedures
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to sustain effective relationships on behalf of the department with internal customers
  • Ability to develop and implement new ideas within specific resource parameters
  • Be able to demonstrate accurate, reliable and safe systems of working
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement techniques such as PPM/TPM system based review of downtime data weekly /monthly/quarterly reporting

Minimum skill/Qualification requirements:

  • Successful completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship
  • Experience of working in Regulated Industry i.e. Medical Devices, Scientific, Pharmaceutical, Food, FMCG or Packaging
  • Mechanically Biased with Electrical Competency
  • Experience of 5S, 5Y'S & Root Cause Analysis
