gap personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting for packing line operatives for Eurilait based in Shepton Mallet, Somerset.

Packing will run from now until January 2021 due to large contract wins which sees an increase in their packing volumes for the year. Full training will be provided for this role, alongside additional company inductions to ensure you are able to complete your duties competently at all times.

The role will consist of working in various packing departments where you will be responsible for:

  1. Working on a packing line and following client specific packed designs
  2. Making up packing boxes
  3. End of line duties to include palletizing/wrapping/labelling
  4. Quality control checks of products for defects, damage, mislabelled
  5. Weighing and labelling of products

The working hours you can choose from:

Monday to Friday – 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm or 8am-4pm

Please note that during peak periods (August to December) you will be required to work either a 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm shift.

The pay rate for the role weeks 1 – 12:

  1. Basic Rate - £8.72 per hour
  2. Overtime + 37.5 hrs - £11.30 per hour

The pay rate for the role weeks 13+:

  1. Basic Rate - £8.82 per hour
  2. Overtime + 37.5 hrs - £11.30 per hour
  3. Overtime Sunday - £15.06 per hour
  4. Rotational Shift Premiums – AM, £15 – PM, £45

Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager the High Care Quality Assistant you will be responsible for:

  1. Undertake Quality Assurance of Incoming Cheese, Packaging and site cut product as directed and according to company procedures.
  2. Carrying out on line QA checking/auditing to ensure correct standards are applied and adhered to.  These include packing standards, code checks, labelling information, weight checks, gas checks, metal detection confirmation and pricing checks.
  3. Carry out any specific checks in line with customer requirements, or as a result of non-conformances or complaints.
  4. Internal calibration and weight checks.
  5. Daily taste panels, end of life panels and collection of sample, swabs for laboratory analysis to include environmental swabbing and record information into the database.
  6. Ensure rejected stock or quarantined stock is correctly labelled and recorded. 
  7. Assist Technical Team with administration and in the implementation of Company Policy, BRC, legal and customer requirements, and corrective actions to ensure that all areas comply with policies and procedures, reporting where necessary.
  8. Reject/On Hold pallet management.
  9. Monthly glass checks.
  10. Undertake checks, collection and record data for incoming goods via the TAYGO system.

The pay rate for the role is: Monday to Friday - £8.72 per hour rising to £9.33 per hour after successfully completing your 12 week probation period and relevant training.
