Job: Permanent
Location: Torquay
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 40 hrs (Flexibility required)
Salary: Negotiable (Dependant on Experience) 
Summary: 
Reporting to the Product Management Director in the Industrial and Telecom Business Unit having responsibility for meeting business performance commitments to key stakeholders. Coordinate and manage the commercial function of the business. Achieve objectives for growth, delivering both revenue and margin targets. Understand market trends and turn opportunities into sales in collaborating with the global sales team. Coordinate all aspects of customer interaction, delivering better than industry standard for customer service 

Key Responsibilities:

Achieve budget revenue and margin within target markets
Ownership of all assigned/approved products – responsible for driving product cost, margin, delivery quality, roadmap and performance objectives
Understanding the market space, opportunities, competitive forces, and product differentiation
Define and ensure product roadmap alignment
Collaborating with Marketing in the generation of product launch materials & collateral that excite sales and customer alike
Ownership of product specification and fit to customer or market requirement
Develop customer intimacy and be the ‘voice of the customer’ in S&OP process. Provide process with accurate rolling forecast information
Manage commercial aspects of NPI process
With input from Global Sales guide engineering on NPI and define R&D priorities, translating market requirements into product concepts
Responsible for product pricing, and understanding cost base. Ensure price lists are current. Regularly visit international customers to develop existing and prospective customers
Manage site input to trade shows and events
Influence corporate strategy to benefit site objectives and meet site growth and budget ambitions
Mobility is required in order to travel to customers and trade shows



knowledge, skills and Experience

In depth knowledge of Photonics and its applications, specifically Fibre Optics
Knowledge of market structures and influences
Comprehensive knowledge of industry trends, including new products and solutions



Qualifications

Engineering (Optics/Physics/Electronics/Mechanical/Software) and/or Business Degree


Experience

3+ years experience in a product management, development, sales or marketing role
Proven internal and customer facing presentation skills
Demonstrated leadership skills
Experience in technical design, project management and relationship management essential
Proven experience in commercial negotiation of large customer accounts
