PRODUCTION ENGINEER / ILMINSTER – PERMANENT ROLE

Location: Ilminster, TA19
Assignment: Permanent contract
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:30am – 16:30pm & Fridays 08:30am – 16:00pm
Pay: £35,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting for a Production Engineer to be responsible for the introduction of new parts into our clients current manufacturing processes including documentation, tooling, equipment and procedures.

The successful candidate will be able to maintain current and fixing of the manufacturing environment and work as a team within their dynamic production environment to support business goals and objectives.

Duties as a Production Engineer:

  • Develop, support and work within Health & Safety regulations, Company Quality and Environmental systems of work
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures
  • Working to develop good working relationships with colleagues
  • Maintain and improve current products with regards to manufacturing process
  • Review and develop the manufacturing process for new parts
  • Print orders in line with current processes and production requirements
  • Investigate and solve current production process issues
  • Ensure production processes and SOP’s utilize materials, methods and personnel
  • Support the testing and replacement of obsolescent consumables
  • Design and manage the introduction of new tooling related to current production processes
  • Maintaining of Health & Safety risk assessments

 

About you:

  • Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 years + experience of working within a manufacturing engineering team within a production environment
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Flexible approach to work to meet deadlines
  • Proven capability to learn and implement new skills and processes
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience participating in control plan development
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Experience in the use of 3D drawing packages
  • Experience of lean manufacturing and six sigma (DMAIC)
