Gap professional are operating as an employment agency on behalf of its client, a reputable based company who are looking for a Production Manager 

Job Type: Permanent
Location: Exeter
Hours of work: Flexible (Monday to Friday) 40 hrs
Salary: DOE 

Main Responsibilities: 
Customer/Delivery

Assume total responsibility for the output and delivery performance of the plating department according to targets set.


Compliance

Ensure that the work is undertaken in compliance with regulations and manuals
Ensures agreed KPI’s are measured, displayed and maintained and that all personnel within the department are made aware of and work to these and ensure daily communication of Performance Dialogues.
Responsible for ensuring all machinery and equipment is fit for purpose
To support, report and drive all Health and Safety, and audit findings etc. as often as required by the business
To support shift cover outside normal working pattern as per the rota agreed between Section Managers
To assume responsibility for the costs of the Department including overtime, tooling, consumables etc
To ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures


Communication

Review work planning and scheduling and provide feedback to charge hands and key account contacts
Using daily performance dialog and frequent personal feedback direct and manage the personnel within processing sections of responsibility to achieve the agreed targets
Cross departmental boundaries to achieve objectives and drive changes
Run daily Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost People (SQDCP) governance process
Ensure all staff adhere to safe working practices
Liaise with customers on a daily bases and conduct meeting and site visits to discuss delivery issues


Continuous Improvement

Check and ensure that labour utilisation and efficiency are improved to meet agreed targets
In conjunction with charge hands identify the training needs of personnel and organise their training and follow their development
Deliver improvement actions on time to achieve the company objectives short and long term
To actively embrace any change project in order to drive the company forward


Ensure all staff adhere to safe working practices 
Liaise with customers on a daily bases and conduct meeting and site visits to discuss delivery issues

Experience:

Must have a minimum of 5 years year’s experience in similar industry, Aerospace/electroplating
Familiar with NADCAP/ISO9100 or aerospace standards
Able to communicate at all levels of the business
Able to use the MS office suite of products
Good communicator, both written and oral
