gap personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently looking for an Production Manager to join a busy team in a well-established client based in Porth.
Oversee the manufacturing process ensuring that production lines are maintained and
working at peak efficiency and capacity to deliver production plan daily. Work closely with the
Production co-ordinator to plan the day’s work, ensuring the days planned works are
delivered on time, and to the standards set out by the company.
Shifts: Monday-Friday (40 hours)
Salary: £30-£35,000 (negotiable)
·Overseeing the production process, monitoring a production schedule per employee
·Implement and control the production schedule
·Ensuring that production is as cost effective as possible
·Ensuring maximum productivity is achieved daily
·Making sure that products are produced on time and to the quality standards set out by the company
·When required communicating schedule issues based on the business’/client’s needs with the P & P Manager
·Taking ownership of any remakes and prioritising them as they travel through the factory
·Overall accountability for quality control, ensuring all products meet Abbey Glass standards and are to the requested specifications
·Work closely with the Planning & procurement Manager to ensure the plan is delivered
·Continually use initiative and explore all options to meet customers’ needs and delivery dates.
·Ensure G-Trak (internal production software) is kept up to date with the works in the system that need to be completed, including programming the dates of each process required.
·Ensure customer delivery dates are met
·Maintain H&S standards throughout the department and factory floor.
·Communicating with sales where any work is delayed
·Overall responsibility for the selection and maintenance of equipment;
·Maintaining a robust cleaning and servicing schedule of all factory machinery;
·Lead a team of Production Operatives
·Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments
·Conduct inductions for new employees
·Working with managers to implement the company's policies and goals
·Identifying training needs and delivering training to meet these needs
·Reviewing worker performance and communicating progress via personal development reviews
·Manage staff holidays so as not to affect production
·Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times
·Ensure inter departmental communication links are good with any delay to works being clearly and quickly communicated to the relevant department
·Provide timely data on the production efficiency and capacity of the factory and each process
