Production Operative required in LS27!

Job Role / Responsibilities:

•Ensure safety of self and others in their work area

•Ability to work on low skilled machines and carry out sorting and other associated activities

The willingness to develop onto all machines including Signature, High Care or assembly machines and take personal responsibility for the achievement the output level (excluding the impact of downtime due to problems with the machine outside their control)

•Willingness to work in any area of the production environment.

•Responsible for addressing and minimising time lost with micro stoppages

•Understands the workload requirements of the machine(s) – output, order requirements, timescale to complete and works in accordance with this.

•Level 1 Maintenance on machines (clean down)

•Uses initiative to address issues where it is reasonable to do so

•Works as a member of the team

•Promptly raises any concerns that cannot be addressed by the operative directly

•Ensure work area is clean, hazard free and assists in implementing the 5s system (and thereafter maintains the 5s)

•Ensure compliance with quality requirements – maintains rubble checks, visual checks.

Candidate Specification:
·Must be able to work effectively, communicate with others and be willing to work as a part of a team

·Must have plastics raw material knowledge (handling, processing etc.)

·Must have previous experience as a Production Operator and knowledge in injection moulding

·Ideally would have experience in a manufacturing environment and have the ability to work in a high pressure site.

·Must have problem solving skills

·Must have pride in work and work environment

·Must have willingness to work flexibly across the production floor

·Must demonstrates Rules of Leadership and Core Values in everyday work

·Must demonstrate a positive approach to work and act as ambassador for the production team

·Must be open to change, new ideas and approaches

·Maths & English (GCSE or Equivalent)
Shifts & Pay:

12 hour shifts - 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am
The candidate needs to be flexible to work rotating day & night shifts and to be on a continental rota. 
Some of the working days will fall on a weekend - so you must be okay with this

£8.91ph for both days & nights
Overtime - after 42 hours between Monday & Saturday = X1.5 / Sunday = X2 (ONLY if not on your rota)

After 12 weeks, if you get taken on as a permanent staff, you will be paid at £9.69ph.
If you are on going, you will get paid at £9.69ph after 6 months.
