PRODUCTION OPERATOR – MELKSHAM – TEMP TO PERM - £21-22K – IMMEDIATE INTERVIEWS AVALIABLE

 

gap personnel acting as an employment business are recruiting for Production operator for an immediate start for established fine dairy client based in Melksham. This role is on a full-time basis starting temporary with permanent opportunities available for the right candidates.

 

Our client has over 40 years’ experience manufacturing and importing dairy products across the world and are looking to add to their friendly team based in Melksham.

 

Working hours / pay

 

Monday – Friday 0800 – 1630 and 0600 – 1430 (first few months will be 8am – 4:30pmnonce fully trained revert to alternating weeks)

 

£21k - £22k annual salary depending on experience

 

The successful candidate will take responsibility for:

 

  • Transfer products using forklift truck ensuring H&S is followed at all times.
  • Running machinery when required, full training is provided.
  • Decant cream into tanks adding raw materials as appropriate and ensuring correct temperatures are applied so the cream is homogenised to correct viscosity
  • Set up tracks for different products
  • Putting finish product into trays or glass jars using the conveyor belt
  • Set up appropriate machine for capping
  • Check jars are sealed and put in crates and then onto pallets
  • Make pallet cards for each pallet to include quantity, date made and batch numbers and attach to pallets
  • Loading and unloading of finished products
  • Regularly clear up rubbish so that the production area is clean and tidy and maintain personal cleanliness to meet set food safety and health and safety standards
  • Undertake the cleaning and maintaining of machinery and equipment in line with cleaning schedules to maintain food safety and health and safety standards

The ideal candidate:

  • Hold a counterbalance and reach forklift licence
  • Previous experience within a similar role would be benefical
  • Have basic health and safety awareness and understanding of food hygeine
  • Be well organised and mechanically minded
  • Have a can do attitude with the flexibility to work alone or as part of a team
