Our client based in the Wrexham area are currently looking for a Production Planner to join their team on a permanent basis.  Our client are an international manufacturer and supplier with over 3,500 employees worldwide in Europe, USA and Asia. 


The Production Planner will be expected to use their knowledge to ensure manufactured parts are planned in a cost-effective way to ensure goods are ready to deliver to the customer as per their agreed delivery date. You will take ownership and responsibility for the planned delivery dates, exemplified by a drive to ensure that the parts are available to despatch as per planned delivery dates thus achieving DIFOT.


Remuneration package


£19,500k - £21,000k  
Monday – Friday / Day Shifts / May change to Morning and Afternoons


The role


Work cross functionally with other departments including SOU to ensure collaborative working that increases the productivity and on time delivery.
Determine if we have raw materials needed to cover production demand to the delivery date re-quested by Customer. Also liaise with Material Control to confirm delivery dates of raw materials required if not already in stock and available.
Adept at handling multi planning streams
Liaising with RUA and SOU Sales Teams to determine forward customer requirements.
Monitoring production progress to ensure it is following the schedule, advising the leadership team of deviations and suggesting corrective actions.
Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption to the delivery date requested by customer.
Plan and prioritise operational needs by issuing production plans, work to lists and shop floor paper-work and ensuring they are correct and available in a timely manner to maximise performance and minimise delay.
Prepares analytical data driven reports about production processes for Production leadership, identifying issues, suggesting resolutions and potential improvements to drive improvements in production efficiency and reliability.
Analysing trends and forecasts to inform and improve the planning process


Essential Experience


In depth experience of production planning in a small batch manufacturing environment
Experience of using ERP in a batch manufacturing environment. Knowledge of IFS ERP system would be beneficial.
Demonstrable experience of investigating and solving planning related production issues.
Qualification to support good numerical ability
Good written and oral communication skills, excellent logical problem-solving ability supported by a good data analysis capability.
High level of proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
