Gap professional are operating as an employment agency on behalf of its client who are looking for a Production Planner

Job: Permanent
Location: Torquay
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 40 hrs (Flexibility required)
Salary: £20,000 - £30,000 (Dependant on Experience)


Summary:
To support the planning and scheduling of production to achieve on time delivery performance targets. Develop and maintain the production plan, ensuring resource is allocated effectively. To support the business by providing accurate reporting and quality analysis of delivery performance and manufacturing data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Production Supervisors to actively communicate and plan the production scheduling to exceed on-time delivery targets
  • Develop and maintain the production plan for the Fused manufacturing unit
  • Deliver capacity plans in line with the S&OP forecast
  • Create and maintain jobs in line with the system to ensure accurate WIO valuations and capacity planning
  • Identify any upcoming capacity issues and work closely with the relevant members of the team to offer solutions to these issues
  • Provide accurate lead time information and sales order commitment dates
  • Ensure the shipping plan is maintained, including sales order information prior to shipment
  • Monitoring, analysing and reporting on business data sets – including OTDP, revenue per head, output, yields and cycle times



knowledge, skills and Experience

  • Production planning and scheduling
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • FMEA and Root Cause analysis
  • Relevant ERP knowledge
  • WIP Track and associated software knowledge


Experience

  • A level (or equivalent) in a mathematics or computer science based subjects desirable
  • Experience of production planning in a high pace manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of ERP system (SYSPRO, SAP, SAGE, ORACLE)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office – particularly Excel
  • Experience with SQL and knowledge of relationship databases preferred
  • Reporting on varieties of data sets
