Gap Professional are operating as an employment agency on behalf of its client who are looking for a Quality Inspector based in Exeter on a permanent basis. 

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am – 4.15pm, Friday 7.30am to 1.30pm (39 hrs)
Salary: £20,000 - £21,000pa 

Job Role:

We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our friendly and dynamic team in Exeter. Reporting to the Quality Supervisor and maintaining quality standards throughout various stages of the supply and manufacturing process, you will be responsible for the inspection of finished goods and components from internal and external sources, including dimensional and aesthetic checks to drawing and/or master samples. Completing sample approvals, Quality Inspection Reports and supporting documentation. 
Previous experience is desirable but in-house training is provided for those who have had experience working in manufacturing or similar practical positions where quality and customer satisfaction are paramount


Inspection of goods from both internal and external sources, including dimensional and aesthetic checks to drawing and / or master samples
Complete sample approvals for new and resourced components and parts
Record inspection results and complete Quality Inspection Reports for non-confirming goods requiring internal or supplier action
Conduct inspections of components and finished goods within supplier manufacturing facilities and ensure the correct quality records and actions are raised and completed in accordance with the findings
Support the Product Auditor in completing product audits of gas appliances and the accurate recording of results in accordance with the product audit schedule
Complete supporting documentation in regard to samples, quality inspections and supplier visits ensuring actual and clear recording of findings
Liaise with relevant departments and suppliers in regard to quality issues
Any other duties are required as part of the role

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings
An understanding of the importance of quality in a manufacturing and customer serving Environment
A background in manufacturing and / or engineering
A valid passport and Driving Licence are required for this role due to the requirement to travel both in the UK and overseas
