SENIOR ELECTRONICS SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER / ST ASAPH – HYBRID WORKING

Location: St Asaph, North Wales
Assignment: Permanent contract:
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30am – 16:30pm & Friday 08:30am – 16:00pm
Pay: £45,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Electronics System Design Engineer based at our clients Optical Systems Innovation Hub based in St Asaph, North Wales.

This position will be focusing on the electronic system design and development of new imaging and sighting systems for Aerospace & Defence and Life Science.

Duties as a Senior Electronics System Design Engineer:

  • Working with colleagues across the business including product management and business development to support new commercial opportunities
  • Develop, support and work within Health & Safety regulations
  • Working to develop and foster good working relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Lead development of electronic solutions for a range of electro-optical products utilizing FPGA, digital and analogue electronic hardware and software
  • Provide electronic system engineering inputs from concept to manufacture and test
  • Assist with requirements capture and specification definition, sensitivity analysis, reliability analysis when required
  • Interfacing with and managing output from sub-contractors
  • Perform electronic design, analysis and test
  • Prepare presentations and reports to a high standard for all phases of projects
  • Support handover from design to production
  • Working with Business Development and Engineering teams to support new opportunities and generate solutions for customers
  • Drive products from design to prototyping up to environmental qualifications following internal and customer driven NPI

About you:

  • Degree level in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or working experience matching expectations of the role
  • 4 years’ experience within a similar role
  • Knowledge in digital and analogue video processing including DSP, FPGA
  • Able to create and maintain technical documentation that support product development processes
  • Ability to create and give presentations to customers and partners
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Results orientated
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills
