£53k per annum dependant on experience

Our client based in the Wrexham area are looking to recruit a Team Manager.  Reporting to the Quality Manager you will interact extensively with customers and internal departments to manage concerns and customer complaints.

Performance Objectives

  • Manage the team.
  • Interact extensively with customers and internal departments to manage concerns and customer complaints. Lead problem solving, perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans. Manage customer-facing 8D reports.
  • Lead by example in encouraging appropriate behavioural standards in support of the company’s values and food safety and culture.
  • Work with Operations teams to establish and improve procedures, standards and systems.
  • Ensure the food safety, quality and legality of all products manufactured on site.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Quality Manager for all activities which ensure food safety, quality and legality of products, as well as Quality department supervision.
  • Help to lead the Hazard Analysis & Risk Assessment (HARA) team activities, reviews and audits.
  • Conduct internal process and system audits. Help to manage customer and 3rd party audits, including preparation, guidance and closure.
  • Act as a catalyst for change and improvement in the food safety and quality culture throughout the business, identifying opportunities for improvements.
  • Maintain the site’s third-party certifications and qualifications, as well as customer-specific site approvals.
  • Observe all local and Company safety policies and procedures as well as housekeeping/6S requirements.
  • Comply with responsibilities and duties as described in the Operational Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and all other Instruction Manuals.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

  • Mature, reliable and dependable personality, able to self-motivate, to be productive and to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Energetic and possessing the stamina and endurance to maintain a fast pace and continue to produce.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, precision and accuracy of work output; always willing to work to a very high standard, focused on Food Safety and Quality.
  • Strong computer skills. Comfortable using MS Office software suite and interfacing with an ERP system.
  • Very strong problem solving skills. Able to use creativity, experience and good judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to compose customer communications and audit reports with correct grammar, structure and logic.
  • Must be flexible to work additional hours as and when required to ensure the range of duties and responsibilities are covered and also be able to travel periodically (up to 15%) to other sites, customers and vendors.
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or other relevant discipline.
  • Food Safety management experience, including working knowledge of BRCGS, AIB, GMP and ISO9001.
  • Proven track record of driving continual quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in plastics manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, food, working within a busy manufacturing environment.
