gap personnel Gloucester are recruiting for a Trade Counter Sales Person to join their timber merchants based in Cheltenham, GL51. You will be joining an award winning business that is a leading name in timber manufacturing across Herefordshire & Gloucestershire. What is an exciting time to join the business, our client prides themselves on an expert service with unrivalled product knowledge. Founded in 1945 and still going strong to this day, our client has a real ‘family run’ feel to the business.

The Trade Counter Sales Person is front facing role where you will engage and build relationships with customers and deliver exceptional customer service.

The Trade Counter Sales person will have a variety of tasks such as:

• Serving both Trade & DIY customers face to face & via e-mail
• Receiving & processing orders for general public and companies
• Calculation quantities on orders
• Accurately pricing and delivering quotations face to face & via email
• Dealing with customer enquiries and resolving issues

About you:

• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to upsell and introduce products
• Competent with MS packages such as Excel and Outlook
• Must be able to learn in-house systems
• A good understand of measurements & calculations
• Experience with multiple trades

The business operates 6 days a week running 2 shifts:

• Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
• Saturday, 8am – 12pm
• Rota Saturdays

Site Facilities include:

• Onsite parking
• Onsite vending machines
• Fun, friendly working atmosphere

As part of the selection process, inductions will be held on site in line with their health and safety policies.
