Our client based in Wrexham is currently looking to recruit a Transport Coordinator on a permanent basis. The successful applicant would work in a small team, reporting to the General Manager in the UK and the VP Logistics in Canada. This role will require a candidate with strong communication skills both via email and telephone. It will involve: overseeing multiple deliverers per day across several markets and temperatures in Europe & the UK; providing support to the CSR’s and receiving team daily execution at the same time ensuring that tracking and reporting on KPI’s are met and maintained; with responsibility for cost management in the client system and linking the carrier invoices to their internal FPO’s.

Pay & Hours of Work

  • £27k per annum
  • Monday – Thursday 9am-5pm / Friday 8am-4pm

Responsibilities

  • Tracking status of each delivery with aim of having in depth knowledge of all transport lanes
  • Monitor and report on all transportation related costs 
  • Identify new partners for all markets and temperatures, report on strengths and weakness across the carrier base
  • Create and report regularly on contractual KPI’s, for both in and outbound transport
  • Manage the approval process for all non-traditional charges, i.e. (Waiting time charges/missed booking slot, wasted journey, returns, etc)
  • Manage all X3 Freight tables
  • Link FPO’s to original invoice to facilitate management approval
  • Identify new transport providers and propose trials across all markets and temperatures
  • Classify and catalogue partners company structure, (Brokers, asset bases, hybrid) (Single Temp, Bi Temp, Tri Temp, groupage, LTL, FTL, tail gate, etc)
  • Responsible for Pallets (EPAL, CHEP, etc) exchange programs, and returns across all markets, maintain balances at sites and identify client owned or owed pallets across all 3PL’s.
  • Ability to jump right on and support emergencies/urgent transports (rush deliveries, transfers, promos, etc)
  • Preparation and execute multiple freight tenders per year (inbound/outbound lanes once a year)

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of supply chain management
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in transport or logistics
  • Some understanding of logistics software
  • Organisational skills
  • Problem-solving abilities 
  • Language skills i.e. French, German or Hungarian (an advantage)
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Strong Geographical knowledge of Europe and UK
  • Experience of Sage X3 / Excel Intermediate
