Job description

Gap Personnel are currently seeking a Production Planner / Scheduler to work with our well established client in Bilston.

Details:

  • £27k per annum
  • Tuesday to Saturday working
  • 8am till 5pm (42.5 hours per week)
  • Permanent Role

 Job Specification:

  • Create, monitor, and analyse production schedules in accordance with the standard best practice

  • Schedule the production process and departmental activities relating to material, employee, and equipment availability

  • Monitor production process, workflow, and schedules to ensure on-time delivery

  • Efficiently assign production to minimise company costs and meet delivery deadlines

  • Review specifications, identify and report plant capacity constraints

  • Resolve production, manpower and material shortage problems quickly in an order of priority

  • Work with Planning Manager to execute and implement process improvements

  • Ensure that materials and equipment are pre-arranged for production

  • Work with Managers to develop potential solutions to improve production performance

  • Coordinate with production, purchasing and finance teams to develop and maintain scheduling parameters

  • Order and stock adequate materials to avoid future shortages

  • Schedule training programs for staff to develop themselves on the job and meet production goals

  • Oversee routine equipment maintenance and repairs to avoid outages during production process

  • Generate daily or weekly production reports for Manages for critical decision-making purposes

  • Develop production schedules in accordance with sales forecast, plant and employee capacity and new business opportunities

  • Analyse customer demands and forecast to the correct capacity

  • Take into consideration lead times, supplier capacity and production capacity

  • Track purchase orders and production to meet delivery dates

  • Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels

  • Working to internal and external lead times

  • Working with purchasing and production

  • Updating production with any changes, requirements, or timescales, ensuring to deliver as expected

  • Quick and concise problem solving

 

Experience and skills required: 

·        Degree in management or another relevant field

·        Previous experience within FMCG industry

·        Minimum 3 years’ experience as production planner

·        Strong communication skills-written and verbal

·        Advanced Excel skills

·        Strong analytical, leadership and planning skills

·        Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

·        You must be proactive and self-motivated

·        Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications

·        Attention to detail

·        Excellent organisational and time management skills

·        Good work ethics

·        Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to take independent initiatives when the need arises

·        Passion for continuous improvements and process efficiencies
