General Operative

Gap Personnel is currently recruiting for a skilled General Operative to join our client in Walsall. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity, with the potential to secure a permanent position after just 3 months. If you're an experienced individual looking for long-term stability and career growth, this could be the perfect fit.

 

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm  Pay: £13.21

• Friday: Early finish at lunchtime

 

The Role:

• Assist with site services and general yard operations, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day functions.

• Safely operate a Counterbalance FLT to move materials around the site.

• Use an overhead crane to handle steel and other heavy materials.

• Load and unload vehicles for timely deliveries and dispatches.

• Carry out local driving duties as needed, ensuring safe transportation of materials.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised site to meet health and safety standards.

• Support production teams with ad-hoc tasks when required, ensuring overall site productivity.

 

Key Requirements:

• Valid FLT Counterbalance licence 

• Proven experience using an overhead crane 

• Full UK driving license 

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or steel environment is preferred.

• A strong awareness of health & safety procedures.

• Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to various tasks.
