gap personnel are proud to be supporting their current client with a Logistics and Warehouse Assistant.
Our client is a leader in their field of manufacturing and we are looking to fill this role asap
As a key member, the successful candidate will join a small team involved with managing the day-to-day logistics and warehouse activities for a busy site. This role will include assisting with production planning, stock control, reconciliations and end of month accounting activities, data input and interrogation of systems as well as general office administration.
A proven track record in systems analysis, accurate inputting of data and providing high levels of weekly and monthly reports, together with general administration skills are essential elements for this role. Experience of stock system maintenance or use of Navision software would be advantageous.
You must have a good level of education, excellent IT and numeracy skills and be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
Responsibilities
- Prepare shipping documents for exports, ensuring all paperwork is complete and compliant
- Maintaining records of collection paperwork, schedules, quotes and deliveries, internal stock movements and the inputting of the data on to excel spreadsheets and Navision.
- Tracking all shipments, ensuring timely and smooth deliveries
- Respond to incoming logistics queries and enquires by phone and email
- Establish and maintain effective and long-term working relationships with other internal departments, customers, suppliers and couriers
- Develop a good understanding of shipping, customs and country requirements to assist in sales and purchasing
- Liaise with couriers and ensure all supplier onboarding paperwork is completed and kept up to date
- The job holder is expected to understand and work according to the requirements of the Quality Management System
- Assist in the management and administration of the defect reporting system.
- Assist with purchasing administration for the logistics and planning departments
- Support the planning team to enable an effective schedule of works
- As the company culture promotes helping others, ad hoc tasks and projects may be assigned to the job holder that are not listed above
- Performing monthly stock take, inputting data, reconciling any variances and assist in investigating variances against the agreed standard.

- Able to work under pressure, prioritising and dealing with several issues at once
- Proven accuracy inputting high volume of data
- Customer focused and excellent communicator – able to build relationships
- Desire and ability to learn and continue learning about products and services
Hours can be flexible and you can work Monday to Friday 8:30-16:30 or 08:00-16:00 or 09:00-17:00
