Our client based in Corwen are looking for an Afternoon Shift Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.  As the Shift Manager you will run the Afternoon Shift, ensuring the factory performance targets of output, waste and product quality are continuously achieved and recorded.

Performance Objectives

·         Supervise the smooth running of the Afternoon Shift, being the point of contact for all management enquiries.

·         Ensure that the FBL achieves the production plan with the best possible quality of bar whilst minimising giveaway.

·         Oversee the FBL packing operation ensuring that the product is correctly labelled and efficiently packaged according to the agreed standard & all documents are completed correctly.

·         Record & assess the FBL OEE ensuring that machine availability and performance are maximized & rework is minimal & recommend improvements where identified.

·         Manage the craft bakery team ensuring that the plan is efficiently achieved minimizing both giveaway and underweights.

·         Oversee the packing operation ensuring that the product is correctly labelled and efficiently packaged according to the agreed standard & all documents are completed correctly.

·         Complete the attendance sheet for the shift, marking down the arrival times and departure times of each individual.

·         Manage, support & develop all of the staff on the shift ensuring that the team are adequately trained with good succession planning for the leaders & key roles.

·         Conduct return to work interviews, and (where appropriate and under the guidance of HR) disciplinaries up to written warning.

·         Complete all production reports including the shift report, labour analysis, OEE and any other reports deemed appropriate to record the performance of the shift.

·         Prepare corrective action where required.

·         Perform stock checks of raw materials & packaging as requested by management.

·         Implement Continuous Improvement throughout the process.

·         Ensure a safe working area for all staff.

·         Responsible for food safety.

·         Alignment with the company’s core values.

Person Specification

·         Good management & logistics skills.

·         Good communication skills.

·         Adaptable.

·         A sound understanding of mixing and process work.
