Job description
We are seeking a motivated and people-focused Recruitment and Engagement Officer to join our clients team. This role plays a key part in increasing awareness of fostering across Cardiff and supporting potential foster carers throughout their initial enquiry and recruitment journey.
The post holder will work on community outreach and promotional activities to help attract, inform, and engage individuals and families who may be interested in fostering. You will represent our client at public events, community gatherings, and information sessions, providing accurate and inspiring information about the fostering process and the difference foster carers make in children’s lives.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, organise, and attend local recruitment and community events to promote fostering.

Act as the first point of contact for potential foster carers, providing information and guidance about the different types of fostering available.

Follow up with prospective applicants to discuss their interest and support them through the early stages of the recruitment process.

Work closely with the fostering team to ensure a positive and responsive experience for all enquirers.

Support the development and delivery of marketing campaigns, social media content, and promotional materials.

Maintain accurate records of enquiries and engagement activities.
About You
The ideal candidate will:

Be confident, approachable, and passionate about engaging with people from all backgrounds.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in person and in writing.

Enjoy working in a varied role that includes event planning, outreach, and promotional work.

Have good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities and enquiries.

Be a team player with a flexible and proactive approach.

Have a valid driving licence and be willing to work occasional evenings or weekends for events.
Desirable:

Experience in marketing, public engagement, or community outreach.
This is a temporary role for 3 months initially.
