Job description

We are seeking someon who can provide high-level administrative, organisational, and clerical support to ensure the effective delivery of office operations and support services. This is a temporary role for 10 weeks initially. 


Principal Responsibilities

  • Meet visitors who come into reception, ensuring professional customer service at all times.

  • Coordinate and support events and meetings as required.

  • Manage manual and computerised records and information systems efficiently.

  • Provide administrative and organisational support to staff and management.

  • Process invoices, manage coding sheets, and monitor expenditure through budget spreadsheets.

  • Maintain petty cash records responsibly when required.

  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues and other staff.

  • Arrange, attend, and actively participate in meetings, training, and performance development activities.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

  • Provide cover for colleagues at a comparable or higher grade during periods of absence (e.g. holidays, sickness).

  • Undertake other relevant duties as directed by the Line Manager.


Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • 5 GCSEs (Grades A–C) or equivalent, including Maths and English.

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience in a relevant discipline.

  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.

  • Excellent IT skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.

 


Knowledge and Skills

  • Effective and confident use of ICT and other specialist software/resources.

  • Full working knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice, and awareness of relevant legislation.

  • Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and digital.

  • Proven ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver workload effectively.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and self-development.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
