The role is working in a start-up business, so you will be leading from the front, starting before the general production staff are employed and getting to know the business first hand before rolling out your knowledge and experience to your team. The ideal candidate will be proactive and assist in setting up the new business, whether that be dealing with deliveries or helping get the machinery and equipment up and running. 

We are looking for a candidate with the following experience:-

  • Food hygiene certificate level 2 or above 
  • Experience with running production in a food environment
  • Ideally and FLT license (but not essential) 
  • A very proactive outlook, happy to pitch in with new business demands

The job role will involve:-

  • Ensuring the smooth production of food products 
  • Training new starters
  • Ensuring food hygiene standards are high and comply with H&S regulations 
  • Adhering to KPI targets

Duties:

  • Assisting with the unloading of company vehicles;
  • Sorting linen in the sorting area;
  • Operating the washing/ironing machines;
  • Feeding linen through any ironer, towel folding or other garment processing equipment;
  • Taking linen off the end of the production process, adopting quality control procedures;
  • Assisting with the storage and packing of finished goods;
  • Helping with other general duties within the production facility which may include cleaning, the removal of waste and other general cleaning and other duties on site;
  • Assist loading/transport department on site, and off site in the event of exceptional circumstances.

  • Operating of finishing equipment producing finished labels in compliance with company operating procedures.
  • Ensure machinery runs at maximum output, bearing in mind quality, machinery limitations and health and safety.
  • Adopt a “pitstop” mentality to reduce change over times, fully utilize and organise press assistants and co-operate with staggered break times to increase runt time against downtime.
