gap personnel Gloucester, are currently recruiting for 1 Production Operative for their Finishing Department for a luxury designer menswear factory based in Quedgeley, GL2. As a Production Operative, you will join a busy team that specialise in hand and machine crafted garments where attention to detail is essential. The price point for each garment lends itself to high-end luxury and worn by celebrities throughout the world – therefore you will be provided with additional training and support to ensure that each product is produced accurately and within production targets.  

The successful candidate will report to the Finishing Supervisor and work as part of a team to ensure our high-quality standards are maintained.

 About the role:

  • Trimming, Inspecting and quality control of product
  • Pressing using a variety of Industrial presses, and presenting our bespoke and made-to-measure garments.
  • Achieve and meet daily production targets with the opportunity to earn a bonus.

About you:

  • Previous experience within laundry environment (desirable)
  • Experience within a similar role (desirable)
  • Able to work with daily production targets
  • Attention to detail

Working Hours and Pay Rate:

  • 7.30am – 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday
  • 7.30am – 1.45pm, Friday
  • £10.00ph + production bonus (equivalent to £1,000 - £3,000 a year)

The site is easily accessible via public transport for the start and finish times.

You will be part of a global supply chain providing printed and perforated film to the UK and Europe’s largest supermarket chains with some of the largest and most recognisable brands.

As a Multi Skilled Operative, you will work across the sites multiple production areas alongside other operators and effectively meet the requirements of the particular production area in which the work is taking place.

Main Duties as a Multi Skilled Operative :

  • To operate production lines safely following SOPs and SPLs. Undertake whatever duties are necessary to ensure the lines on your shift run to both capacity and within the quality and waste standards required by the Company.
  • Follow works instructions carefully and carry out the relevant QA checks and record the information to the standards required by the company.
  • Take part in 6S activities as required and ensure that your working area is always clean and safe.
  • Carry out risk assessments and inform your Team Leader of any new activity that needs to be performed within your area.
  • Always report any faulty equipment to your Team Leader and Engineering.
  • Be prepared to work in any part of the production facility providing the relevant training has been provided.
  • Assist the Team Leader by looking forward throughout the shift to effectively plan production in the Team and provide support as and where necessary.
  • Support development of new operators through their own training and to participate actively in training programs as and when required.
  • Be prepared to move between primary machines / areas during the shift and support running through breaks and ensure an efficient handover at shift change.

Continental Rotational Shifts:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (rotate) Wednesday, Thursday
