Assembly Operative

gap personnel Exeter, working in partnership with highly reputable manufacturing company Gazco Stovax are currently looking for multiple Assembly Operatives for their NEW factory at Skypark in Exeter.
You will be joining a team that are due to see a significant increase in production due to the seasonality of their product. Reporting directly to the Production Team Leader the purpose of this role is to assemble, test and maintain quality control over items produced.
As an Assembly Operative your duties will include:
- Performing assembly operations by following work instructions to manufacture gas or electric fires or sub-assemblies.
- Performing test operations in accordance with work instructions.
- Packaging and labelling correctly of finished products and moving these on pallets to dispatch area.
- Working in a safe manner as instructed either by the section team leader or supervisor or following written work instruction where relevant.
- Ensuring the work area is clean and tidy and maintained as such on a daily basis.
- Ensure that standards of quality are adhered to.
- To perform as and when required any reasonable management request from the section team leader or supervisor.
About You:
- Keen eye for detail and a mechanical knowledge and interest to assist with production is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience of working within a factory environment preferable but not essential.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Dynamic and proactive.
- Heavy products need to be handled.
- Flexibility to carry out a wide-ranging role.
Working Hours & Pay:
- 7.30am to 4.15pm Mon to Thurs and until 1.30pm Fri
- £10.42ph rising to £10.53ph after 12 weeks
- £21,354 per year equivalent on permanent contract

Responsibilities
- To ensure packing lines are run efficiently to ensure daily targets are met.
- Effective supervision of tool changeovers with minimum disruption.
- Supervision of staff and identify any areas of training required.
- Ensure all relevant batch and quality paperwork is completed to a high standard.
- Ensure all health and safety policies are followed by staff under your supervision.
