gap personnel Gloucester, operating as an employment business are currently recruiting for Operator Inspector for Night shift for one of the Client in Gloucester (GL4) which is accredited partner to the world’s largest Aerospace & Defence OEMs, including Airbus, Boeing, MOOG, Safran and UTC.
Working as Operator inspector will involve variety of tasks from preparation operations to the operation of various surface treatment processes. It will also include the inspection of work in accordance with specified standards and requirements.
Main duties & responsibilities: -
- Adhere to quality standards that are required to meet and exceed customer specifications
- Take responsibility for the safe operation and basic maintenance of the production area
- Prepare components as per drawing requirements, using various masking techniques
- Unmask production parts with no damages occurring to components
- Process components as instructed (job card or drawing requirement )
- Inspection of components to drawing specification
- Perform basic racking/ jigging to production parts
- Process documentation accurately
- Any other duties assigned by Line Manager
Requirements
- Ability to understand technical drawing and carry out its instructions
- Ability to identify parts with printed electronic pictures
- Ability to complete detailed traceability requirements as part of the documentation products
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Good communication skills to be able to provide information needed to complete tasks and avoid any delays
Knowledge and Experience (not essential as full training provided)
- Previous experience or understanding of surface treatment process
- Experience in working with engineering or technical plans
- Experience in working with tools and equipment in a chemical environment
Successful candidate will have positive, helpful attitude and be respectful to our colleagues and customers. Will adhere to Health, Safety and environmental requirements and use Personal Protective Equipment as required/instructed. They would need to follow 5s methodology to organise work spaces to create efficiency and effectiveness, as well as demonstrate professional approach – be reliable and punctual.

There will be requirement to work the day shift whilst completing training but would still receive shift allowance during this period.
