We are recruiting on behalf of our prestigious client in the Burnley area for a Packaging Operative
Our client is an employer of choice in the area and due to their continued growth, are recruiting for a Packaging Operative to support with demand of the product.
The role responsibilities for this position are as follows:-
- To effectively run the shrink wrapping machine, which includes:
- shrink wrapping
- hand bagging
- re-taping
- rolling in gasket.
- Operating Fork Lift Trucks - Counter Balance
- Ensuring correct product identification labels are in place.
- Packaging profile to standards expected by the customer.
- To work within a team, maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues.
- To ensure material handling, both mechanical and manual is carried out efficiently and safely.
- To undertake general housekeeping duties within the department, ensuring that the working environment is maintained in line with Company requirements.
- To be competent to the standards required within our clients training manual and achieve NVQ level 2 qualifications.
- Communicate effectively to all levels within the business.
- To promote and implement relevant Company policies and procedures.
- To represent the Company in a professional manner.
- To maintain a flexible and enthusiastic approach to Company matters, upholding the company Values at all times.
- To liaise with colleagues and superiors on day to day duties and issues.
- To maintain all Health, Safety, C.O.S.H.H. and environmental standards within the workplace and adhere to all Company working practices.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the Production Unit Leader/Manager from time to time.
The shift pattern for this role is as follows:-
Weekly rotation:- The shift is a 4 day working week, Monday to Thursday
Week 1 - 6am till 4pm - Monday to Thursday
Week 2 - 4pm - 2am - Monday to Thursday
This will rotate each week.
You will always be off Friday, Saturday & Sunday each week.
The salary for this position starts on £25,044.03 although there is a banding scale in place for successful candidates to work up the grades to earn up to £26,655.62 per year.
These positions are temporary to permanent positions.

Duties
- Packing sample / containers for distribution to customer or subcontractors via couriers and also receiving them.

- Carrying out filtration of waste water samples.
- Scanning and inputting samples onto our system accurately.
- Rotating sample bottles and dispose of bottles after analysis.
- To ensure that the workstation/working environment is clean and tidy at all times and clean glassware used for samples.
- Processing of returns or waste for recycling/disposal.
- To ensure that registration, preparation and splitting of samples is carried out as soon as possible after receipt to comply with sample stability times.
