Production Material Handler
We are currently recruiting for a Production Material Handler based in Chepstow
Our client is a busy manufacturing company and as such, they are looking to add new members of staff to their team.
Contract: Perm
Shifts: 40 hours per week rotating shift - 06.00 – 14.00/14.00 – 22.00
Salary – £22,357 to £23,357 depending on experience
As Production Operative / Material Handler you’ll enjoy being a critical part of the team and work flexibly across a variety of production activities with the primary focus of supplying the paint line the necessary materials required to complete the Production schedule.
Responsibilities and Activities:
- Check and prepare materials in accordance with the days schedule, reporting any errors or discrepancies.
- Ensure that the Forklift Trucks are checked daily and in good operative order.
- Organise and locate paint line WIP material into designated locations dependant on process requirements.
- Perform the necessary quality checks on material being picked for the paint line.
- Provide cover on the paint line & packing lines as and when required, carrying out routine quality checks;
- Responsible for the good housekeeping of your work areas
Person Specification:
- Ability to follow standard operation instructions.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail. – you’ll need to match drawings to extrude profiles.
- Basic level of IT literacy i.e. able to use email, use web based system for time and attendance.
- Ability to build, maintain effective working partnerships with colleagues
- Self‐motivated proactive approach to work that is able to demonstrate initiative
This role does involves physical movement including lifting, bending, twisting and carrying with loads of up to 20kg as a core part of the role.

Responsibilities

- Working on the end of a fast-paced production line which is packing products into cardboard boxes
- Labelling of boxes prior to despatch
- Able to work to own initiative but also as part of a team
Essential Skills

- Previously worked within a fast-paced production environment would be desirable
- Operating machinery and working with machinery is desirable but full training will be given
