We are looking for a Trainee Sewing Machinist for a client based in Sheffield.
Responsibilities as a Trainee Sewing Machinist
As a Trainee Sewing Machinist, your responsibilities will include cutting fabric to required lengths and accurately marking out joints. You will also be responsible for joining fabric lengths together to create curtains of the desired size, ensuring precise alignment at the joins. Additionally, you will mark out the final size of the curtains and carefully sew hems and pockets, paying close attention to detail and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the process. This position requires a keen eye for measurements, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to follow instructions accurately. As a Trainee Sewing Machinist, you will have the opportunity to develop your sewing skills and contribute to the creation of well-crafted curtains.
Other duties as a Trainee Sewing Machinist:
- Carry out work issued by your Team Leader/Factory Supervisor to the right quality(ISO) and reasonable time.
- Be able to interpret information from the Manufacturing Sheet, Drawing and SOP. This will give you Sizes quantities etc. of what you need to produce. If in doubt ask.
- Do not carry out any work without an Ack No. Report daily progress to the factory supervisor to populate the planner.
- Forewarn material shortages to your team leader or factory supervisor. Keep process scrap to a minimum.
- Assist and have input into R&D projects. Playing an active role in continuous improvement.

07:30 – 16:30 Monday - Thursday
07:30 – 13:00 Friday
