SETTER / OPERATOR   

Reports to: Production Manager 

Location: Oldbury, West Midlands 

Salary: £28199.60 per annum 

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.00pm with half hour lunch break each day and 7.30am to 12.30pm with no lunch break on Friday of each week – 37 hours in total.

Our client specialises in the manufacture and supply of light gauge, non-load bearing, cold-rolled formed metal products for use in partitioning, dry lining and ceiling systems. 

This is a permanent full-time position working as part of an established team within a busy fast-paced production environment, working with and operating complex roll forming lines. 

Person specification 

» Have experience in setting and operating complex roll forming lines 

» Be well organised, multi-skilled, self-motivated and professional 

» Have good timekeeping and attendance 

» Be able to prioritise the workload and work to tight deadlines 

» Be responsible for achieving key objectives 

» Be an effective team player 

» Be able to communicate at all levels and have a “can do” attitude 

» Must be eligible and able to prove you can work in the UK. Your responsibilities 

» Achieve daily targets to meet customer demand » Carry out the necessary operations accurately to complete orders 

» Record process data and use electronic production control systems 

» Work on own initiative and problem solve

» Follow verbal or written instructions and work to set out procedures 

» Maintain awareness and ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, housekeeping standards and Company rules and procedures 

» Seek continuous improvement related to the business KPI’s.

The role is working in a start-up business, so you will be leading from the front, starting before the general production staff are employed and getting to know the business first hand before rolling out your knowledge and experience to your team. The ideal candidate will be proactive and assist in setting up the new business, whether that be dealing with deliveries or helping get the machinery and equipment up and running.

Duties:

  • Operating of finishing equipment producing finished labels in compliance with company operating procedures.
