Gap personnel operating as an employment business is recruiting for a Dispatch Desk Operator for our client in Ipswich, you will be working for a premier supplier that is looking to grow its team on a Full time Temporary to Permanent Basis.

Monday to Friday 07:00AM to 16:30PM 40 hours per week
Pay £10.50 Per Hour overtime after 40 hours at £15.75 Per Hour
Main Responsibilities
- To assist the Transport co-ordinator to ensure the efficient running of the dispatch desk, to accurately produce site paperwork, consignment notes and pick lists,
- Ensure the weighbridge is operated in accordance with company procedures and policies, ensuring vehicles are weighed in and off site.
- Ensuring goods are received and despatched accurately according to company procedures and protocols, ensuring accurate information is produced for Ship discharges.
- Ensuring the health and safety site rules are clearly explained to haulage contractors, Checking of legal compliance with required legislation (ADR documentation)
- Ensuring that all outstanding bookings are executed daily by regularly communicating with haulage companies, where booked loads have not been collected. Raising any issues with the Transport co-ordinator & Site Management
Knowledge, skills, and experience required.
- A can-do attitude is essential in this role,
- An excellent telephone manner is essential
- Accurate computer skills required
- Good general understanding of PC applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
