WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR/MANAGER
Our client is seeking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor/Manager to manage a team of six personnel in a busy warehouse. The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory/ management experience in a manufacturing warehouse operation. The warehouse function includes goods inward receiving, internal handling, storage, packing and despatch.
Applicants must have experience in all these areas as well as the use of a computerised system to register incoming goods, issuing raw materials into manufacturing and receiving finished goods into stock. Previous experience of PPI and the handling and disposal of waste, in line with current legislation, would be a distinct advantage.
You must also be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines ensuring compliance with H&S operating procedures and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, training and coaching on warehouse procedures, standards and responsibilities through motivation and effective metrics and monitoring.
- To be responsible to maintain a clean organised and safe environment throughout the warehouse.
- Assure H&S and quality standards are maintained to the highest levels.
- Maintaining inventory counts and conduct stock cycle counts as needed.
- Able to identify, plan and communicate areas for improvement within the warehouse.
- Maintain physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts.
- Constant review of the processes and systems linking the warehouse and other departments with the objective of enhancing operational efficiencies.
- Adhere to all QMS requirements, company policies, procedures and business ethics also ensuring that these are communicated and followed in all warehouse operations.
- Responsible for the use and care of the company van. Including planning of local collections and deliveries.

- Effective communication skills
- Strong leadership, motivation and managerial skills
- Strong project management and multi-tasking skills
- A positive “can-do” attitude, who acts with integrity and respect as a team player and a self-starter
- Computer literacy required and experience with ERP and warehouse management systems preferred
- A current fork lift truck driving licence for both counter balance and reach trucks is desirable.
Normal hours of work are 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 15:30 on Friday.
It will occasionally be necessary for the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager to work additional hours at short notice.
