An exciting on-going opportunity has become available for a Loading Shovel/ FLT Driver to work with our client, who is a Cardboard and Waste Paper Recycling specialist based in Sandycroft area.

Our client has secured a long-term contract and has made some major investment in site, with modern facilities to make it a great place to work.

As a Loading Shovel/ FLT Driver, you will be responsible for loading and unloading of waste materials in the yards area

Pay & Hours Of Work:

• £12.58 per hour
• Monday to Friday – 10pm to 6am

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading of waste materials in the yards area and work as part of a team.
• Operation of fixed and mobile plant according to the training given, and within site rules.
• To Supervise shift members to process material in a safe efficient manner.
• To carry out any other such reasonable job-related tasks as the company may require you to undertake from time to time.
• To share responsibility for health and safety of the team.
• To monitor other personnel working at or visiting the depot and to ensure that they are complying with site rules, and to promptly report breaches.
• Carry out a range of manual handling duties.
• Carry out physical checks on mobile plant.

Requirements:

• Experience in the wastepaper/recycling industry
• Valid FLT Licence
• Previous Shovel Driving Experience
• Flexibility
• You might be required to work overtime so flexibility is appreciated
• Candidate’s must have good attitude to work and must demonstrate an excellent time keeping and attendance record

The role a Production Supervisor

The core purpose of the role is to drive efficiency and productivity on the production lines in the packhouse. To assist the packhouse manager and to cover them in their absence. This is a permanent position.

Duties will include:

• To effectively plan and organise the labour on the line to ensure the most efficient production output.
• Ensure that all Hygiene and Health & Safety rules and procedures are followed by all operatives.
• Ensure that all operatives comply with quality and good manufacturing procedures.
• Ensure that all production KPI’s are achieved, and work to improve them.
• Drive efficiencies within the lines and department.
• Effectively communicate all Company information to all operatives on the line.
• Ensure that the Packhouse and other linked areas are kept clean and tidy, at all time. Using a ‘clean as you go’ rule.
• Ensure all orders are produced to the highest quality standard and within customer specification.
• Ensure all waste and resources are kept to a minimum.
• Ensure all documented details are recorded accurately and all changeover information is precise.

• Ensure the label check sheets are filled in correctly and verified.
• Metal checks to be carried out on each line hourly and at the start and end of each run.
• Checkweigher verification checks to be carried out at the start and end of each run.
• Feedback all quality issues to the Production Manager and Technical Department.
• Feedback any machine or equipment issues to Production Manager/Engineering Manager
• Continuously monitor the process and offer ideas for improvement.
• Motivate your team and develop a good team spirit.

We are looking for x 3 candidates to start on our weekly rotating shifts 06:00-14:30/14:00-22:30 with the pay being £9.51ph plus over time rates. 

What will I be doing?

• Production line- sorting through aggregate, sorting metal and plastics into the correct containers.
• Shoveling waste into correct bins
• General tidying around work stations, and occasional spillages
• Scraping off waste that is passing through the machines using tools

You will be provided with full PPE such as:
