Job description

• Supervise staff to ensure their knowledge of process, equipment and materials is continually improving. Improve training and knowledge of processes to all staff.
• Ensure the standards of health and safety, COSHH, productivity, administration, housekeeping, and hygiene are maintained to the company’s standards.
• Communicate and report problems and successes with line management.
• Liaison, co-ordination and providing a positive attitude to visitors, including Environment Agency, Landlords, Insurers, Health and Safety Executive, Customers and Auditors.
• Maintain a good and accurate record of weighbridge information relating to consignment accuracy, checking consignment items match against load information.
• Other duties necessary to help the business as required by the site management and Directors.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years Waste Recycling experience, or equivalent eg; relevant Warehouse/Production.
  • Some supervisor/team leader experience would be beneficial.

Your role

As a Trainee electrical Recycling Operative, you will be responsible for an important part of the recycling process: dismantling Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment recycling. This task ensures that all components can be reused or recycled responsibly. Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment recycling includes devices such as flat-panel TVs, microwaves, CRTs, fridges, PCs and other waste electricals.

• Adhere to safe working practices and health and safety instructions.
• Stripping plastic coated tubes.
• Sorting and containerising batteries.
• Carrying out reasonable instructions from the Team Leaders and Site Operations Manager.

• City Centre Cleansing; Tuesday to Saturday, 05:00am till 13:00pm, 12:30pm finish on Saturdays. Responsible for the street cleansing across Exeter walkways such as Exeter Quay, the City Centre and surrounding areas. Role would include emptying of bins, litter picking.  
• City Centre Cleansing; 2 week rota option of Wednesday to Saturday, 05:00am till 17:00pm (week 1) Thursday to Saturday (week 2).
