Job description
Job Title: Despatch Operator
Reports to: Despatch Manager
Pay & Hours
- Hourly Rate: £12.21
- Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, rotational shifts:
- Early Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Late Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Role Overview
- Support the Despatch Manager and team in picking, packing, and loading finished goods.
- Ensure customer orders are picked accurately and dispatched on time.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of despatch operations.
Key Responsibilities
Administration
- Accurately complete all outbound shipment documentation.
- Maintain vehicle tracking sheets for outbound stock.
- Prepare and issue delivery notes.
- Print and update customer orders using internal systems.
- Generate and apply pallet labels.
- Complete daily forklift safety checklists.
- Communicate product shortages promptly to relevant stakeholders.
Despatch Operations
- Mix pallets according to order specifications.
- Follow booking-out procedures for all outbound goods.
- Pick and palletise customer orders with precision.
- Secure all orders using shrink-wrap and load onto designated vehicles.
- Complete quality assurance checks for outbound goods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the Despatch area and loading bays.
