Food Production Operative
Location: Warminster
Shift: 7:15am - 4:45pm
Pay Rate: £12.21 p/h
Contract: Temp to perm
Role Overview
As a Food Production Operative, you will work hands-on in the factory production area, supporting the full cycle of food preparation and packaging. You will handle ingredients, operate basic production equipment (after training), check product quality, weigh and portion items accurately, package finished goods, and ensure all safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and handle ingredients before they enter the production line (sorting, measuring, portioning)
- Support food processing stages including mixing, preparing, filling, and portion control
- Weigh products accurately according to production specifications
- Pack, seal and label finished food products
- Operate basic food production equipment after receiving full training
- Perform visual quality checks (appearance, weight, packaging, labels)
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace, following internal hygiene procedures
- Follow food safety standards, including HACCP-based processes
- Wear and use protective equipment (factory clothing, hair protection, gloves, hygiene gear)
- Report production or quality issues directly to the line supervisor
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a production team
- Help load, organize and prepare goods for dispatch and storage when required
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures carefully
- Comfortable working in a repetitive, fast-moving manufacturing environment
- Able to work on your feet for most of the shift
- Willing to learn basic equipment operation through workplace training
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- A responsible attitude towards hygiene and product quality
