Job description

Job Title: Park Assistant
Location: Norwich (Including Eaton Park, Earlham Park, and Waterloo Park)
Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour
Contract Type: Seasonal (Until September, with potential for permanent role)
Working Pattern: Rotating shifts – Monday to Sunday (One day on, one day off)
Average Weekly Hours: 29.83 (Hours may increase during peak seasons)


About the Role

Join our dedicated team as a Park Assistant and help to maintain the beauty and cleanliness of some of Norwich’s most beloved green spaces. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is physically active, and takes pride in keeping public spaces welcoming for all.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive a designated van (car classification) between parks across Norwich.

  • Carry out routine checks and secure parks at closing time.

  • Perform litter picking and manage waste by emptying and positioning bins.

  • Maintain a schedule that ensures all tasks across multiple locations are completed on time.

  • Contribute to the general upkeep and cleanliness of Eaton Park, Earlham Park, Waterloo Park, and other green areas as assigned.


Shift Details

  • Weekdays: Start time at 15:30

  • Weekends: Start time at 07:00, with shifts lasting up to 12 hours (potentially ending at 23:30)

  • Rotating weekly schedule (e.g., Work Mon–Wed, Off Thu–Fri, Work Sat–Sun)

  • Hours vary seasonally, with higher demand during summer.
